About me, my name is Catherine and I started
Chestnut Corner after moving to the area in 2012 and having huge trouble finding
a boarding establishment in the area that I would be happy to send my beloved rescue
bunnies to. I ended up having to travel nearly 40 miles for somewhere I was happy
with, so with help from my partner Dean coupled with my passion for caring for bunnies,
Chestnut Corner was born!
I have always had a great love of all animals, and have owned both rabbits and guinea pigs since I was in my early teens, and in that time have also volunteered and fostered for the RSPCA in their small animal department and other smaller private rescues. I am a member of the Rabbit Welfare Association and attend their yearly conferences to enhance my medical knowledge. I also am part of the Southern co-ordination team for Action for Rabbits, a voluntary organisation promoting rabbit welfare and rescues across the country.
I am the proud owner of three rescue bunnies, Noah, Jessie and River. I also have 3 rescue guinea pigs, Molly, Mabel and Peaches. I am a passionate advocate for animal welfare and am always striving to promote the message that rabbits really aren't cheap and easy pets - they need space, a good diet, constant enrichment and either insurance for vet bills or a large bank balance!!
